The gas pipeline of the IGL company suddenly burst in the Yamuna river in Chhaprauli police station area of Baghpat. Due to the bursting of the gas pipeline, a fountain of water started rising up to about 40 feet in the Yamuna river. The villagers got scared seeing the storm inside the river. He informed the police station about this. As soon as the information was received, the district officials reached the spot. The officials hurriedly alerted the people of the nearby villages. Also informed the officials of IGL company about the incident.
Baraut SDM Subhash Singh, who reached the spot, told that the incident is from Jagos village. At around three in the morning, the pipeline of the IGL company passing through the Yamuna river on the Dadri border of Panipat and Baghpat in Haryana suddenly burst. Hearing the loud noise, the villagers reached the spot. He informed the police and fire brigade about this. On getting the information, officers of all departments including police, fire brigade, irrigation department reached the spot.
The supply of gas was stopped in time, otherwise there would have been a big loss
The supply of gas was immediately stopped after the instructions of the officials of the IGL company. No damage done. After the pipeline burst, a crowd of villagers gathered to see the high fountain of water, seeing which the villagers were quite nervous. For the time being, after the gas supply was stopped, the villagers and officials heaved a sigh of relief.
Baghpat DM Jitendra Pratap Singh told that this is an incident near Jagos village. There is an area slightly away from the population, where the gas pipeline has burst. This gas pipeline was torn in the middle of Yamuna river. The incident took place between 3 to 5 in the morning, as soon as the information was received, the gas supply was immediately stopped.
The employees of the company are repairing the pipeline from Panipat side.
DM Jitendra Pratap Singh told that at present there is no problem of any kind. Because it seems to be near from the Panipat side of Haryana, that is why the workers from that side are engaged in repairing the pipeline. It will be rectified soon. At present, people have been prohibited from going around there as a precaution.
