Lucknow. A massive fire broke out in Lokbandhu Hospital in Lucknow district of Uttar Pradesh on Monday night. The fire on the second floor of the hospital took a monstrous form in a short time. The entire floor was filled with smoke and flames. There was a stampede among the patients, attendants and doctors. Along with the fire brigade, the SDRF team is also present on the spot.
A joint team of fire brigade and police is trying to extinguish the fire. All 40 patients of ICU have been rescued by fire brigade personnel. More than 200 patients have been shifted to KGMU, Civil and Balrampur hospitals. The police have evacuated the entire hospital.
CM Yogi took cognizance
Deputy CM Brijesh Pathak, District Magistrate Vishakh ji, Police Commissioner Amarendra Sengar, Joint Police Commissioner Bablu Kumar and others are present on the spot. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has called the officials and inquired about the entire incident.
On the fire, DM Vishak G. Iyer said, “As soon as the information about the fire was received, the fire and rescue team reached the spot and started the rescue operation. All the patients were evacuated safely and referred to our three places. Presently the fire was brought under control by the fire brigade team and the situation is currently under control.
Police Commissioner Amarendra Singh Sengar said on the fire in Lokbandhu Hospital, “The fire brigade reached the spot as soon as the information about the fire in Lokbandhu Hospital was received. All the patients have been evacuated and shifted to nearby hospitals. There is no report of anyone being injured.
