Aligarh. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone of Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh State University and Defense Corridor on Tuesday at 12.20 pm at village Moosepur in Aligarh district of Uttar Pradesh. Earlier on Monday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took stock of the preparations. About 1.5 lakh people of Agra-Aligarh division are expected to attend the function.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will reach the venue on Tuesday afternoon by an Air Force helicopter. He will lay the foundation stone of the State University and Defense Corridor by pressing the button from the stage itself at 12.20 o’clock. After this, the Prime Minister will address the people for 37 minutes. The Prime Minister is scheduled to stay here for an hour.
CM Yogi tested the preparations: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath along with BJP state president Swatantra Dev Singh on Monday tested the arrangements from the helipad to the stage. The officers were instructed to deal with every situation. Feedback was also taken from MPs, MLAs and BJP officials regarding the preparations for the programme. He stayed here for about an hour and a half. After this left for Agra by state helicopter. State Cabinet Ministers Satish Mahana, Suresh Rana, Minister of State Sandeep Singh, Additional Chief Secretary Avnish Kumar Awasthi were also present during the inspection.
University’s new design ready: The new design of the Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh State University building has been prepared. The CM also expressed satisfaction after seeing this. He did not like the design prepared earlier. He had given instructions to make it like a palace. The new design has been made by the Public Works Department from an agency in Noida. It was shown to the CM by the Additional Chief Secretary of the Higher Education Department, Monica S Garg and other officials. The main gate of the university will be huge. There will be greenery on both sides of the road leading in. There will be carving on the main gate. This university was announced by CM Yogi Adityanath in 2017 before the by-election of Iglas assembly constituency. The university was named after King Mahendra Pratap, who had sacrificed his life for the country’s independence, as there was no building and monument in his name.

Corridor will be developed in Andla on Khair Road in 1000 acres
- Four years ago, the central government had announced to develop corridors in six cities of the state including Aligarh.
- 100 hectares of land has been acquired so far, UPEDA has got the responsibility to develop it.
- There is a possibility of investment of six thousand crores here. In this, parts related to defense weapons will be prepared.
