TRAI said public sector Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) was fined Rs 30 crore for failing to curb unsolicited business calls in April, May and June. Similarly, Airtel, Vodafone, Quadrant Televentures and Reliance Jio were fined Rs 1.33 crore, Rs 1.82 crore, Rs 1.41 crore and Rs 14.99 lakh respectively. Apart from this, a fine of Rs 1.73 lakh has been imposed on Mahanagar Telecom Corporation Limited, Rs 15.01 lakh on Tata Teleservices Limited and Rs 34,000 on V-Con Mobile and Infra Private Limited. TRAI said that an order in this regard was passed on 23 November. Companies have to submit this penalty order within 20 days from the date of its execution.
