Kishanganj Owaisi’s party opened its account in Bihar by winning the Kishanganj seat in the 2019 by-election. AIMIM is getting a tough fight with Congress and BJP this time. The election has started at the scheduled time. AIMIM is a challenge to retain possession if it is a sham to recover its lost land. The BJP, which was runner up for six consecutive times between these two, is in the process of feeding lotus. A total of 20 candidates are in the fray for this minority-dominated seat, but in front of AIMIM candidate Kamarul Hoda, Izharul Hussain from Congress and Sweety Singh of BJP. Sometimes the Congress has become interesting in the face of Owaisi’s strong interference on this seat, which is in the account of socialists. Till the 90s, there was a competition between the Congress and the Socialists, but from the 90s till now, BJP has been in second place for six consecutive times. During this time, even at very close intervals, the BJP missed out on approaching victory. After Owaisi’s frequent camps and Rahul Gandhi’s meeting, the contest has become even more thorny. If the Congress wants to save its credibility by returning to this seat, Owaisi is trying to prove himself as the leader of the minorities. The special thing is that Dr. Javed Azad, who won the Congress in 2010 and 2015, had to face the loss in the 2019 elections. In 2019, Dr. Azad, who was elected as a MP, fought his mother Saeeda Banu on a Congress ticket, but opposition to familism emerged so that voters turned to Owaisi’s party. At the same time, the Congress has fielded the general worker.
This area is surrounded by Mahananda and Dok river
This assembly constituency, surrounded by the Mahananda and Dok rivers, lacks basic facilities. After the 2010 liquidation, four panchayats of Kishanganj block and 22 of Pothia block were included, including the Kishanganj Municipal Council area. The fourlane road that passes in the middle of the city, the Overbridge and the railroad connecting the North East to other parts of the country, gives a little bit of happiness. But the lack of basic amenities from urban areas to rural areas seems to be telling the truth of development. Who says of rural areas, pure drinking water is not available even in the city. The situation becomes hellish in floods and rain. On rainy days, the population of over one lakh is cut off from the district headquarters due to the upsurge of Mahananda and Dok river. Schools are open in the field of education but there is a shortage of teachers. Traffic is still a big problem. A large population is living with the help of the boat and the Chachar bridge. Health service is on ventilator. There is a shortage of doctors and health workers in the hospital.
