With recycling materials we are not only reducing waste, but also saving resources and keeping the environment safe. But even today in our country, about 10% of the 300 million tonnes of solid waste is recycled and more than 70% goes to landfill.
Three key factors need to be addressed together to address recycling challenges. Expansion of waste management infrastructure for collection and recycling, innovation and best practices in recycling technology and processes and finally investment potential.
Tetra Pak has been actively collaborating with a wide range of local and global stakeholders and customers to expand the packaging collection infrastructure. Tetra Pak is working with 4 recyclers in India. They range from family controlled businesses to multinationals.
