Dehradun. Nain Singh Rawat, the first surveyor of India to measure Tibet on foot and prepare a map there, will soon be seen on the big screen. Actor Tiger Shroff is going to debut the biopic through the story of Himalayan son Pandit Nain Singh Rawat. Director Ahmed Khan has offered him the film. It is being told that Tiger has also liked the story of the film. The search for the film’s location will start from November 16.
Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj told director Ahmed Khan about Nain Singh Rawat. Ahmed Khan liked the story a lot and decided to make a film on it. It is being told that the process of taking the rights to the film from Nain Singh’s family is going on. It is expected that most of the shooting of this film based on the mountain will be done in Uttarakhand itself.
Told the world the geography of tibet
Nain Singh Rawat was born in Milam village of Munsiyari tehsil of Pithoragarh district. Nain Singh started going to Tibet with his children for business to share his father’s hand. He is said to be the first such cartographer and surveyor in the world, who told the world the geography of Tibet. He was the first in the world to measure the altitude of Lhasa to sea level. Also calculated the latitude and longitude of Lhasa. On his achievement, the postal department issued the postal stamp on 27 June 2004 after 139 years.
Nain Singh was fond of traveling
During British India, the British secretly planned to survey the southern part of Tibet and Russia. Nain Singh’s name was suggested for this work. The British assigned him the task of measuring. They had to measure from Brahmaputra valley to Yarkand area. Apart from his brother Kishan Singh Rawat, five other people were involved in this campaign.
Wearing Tibetan Lama was disguised
Nain Singh disguised the Tibetan Lama for a secret Tibet survey. In the absence of equipment, he adopted a unique method of measuring Tibet. He tied a 33-inch rope to the legs, so that his footsteps would fall at a certain distance. It is said that for this he had practiced a lot in Dehradun. He remembered his calculations in poems.
