The Supreme Court will hear a public interest litigation today seeking an agency probe into the death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput as well as a CBI inquiry into the death of Sushant’s former manager Disha Salian, as the two cases are interlinked. (Inter-linked). Public Interest Litigation Chief Justice S.A. Is listed for hearing before a bench headed by Bobde, comprising Justice A.S. Bopanna and V. Ramasubramanian.
On a petition filed by Puneet Kaur Dhanda through advocate Vineet Dhanda, the Mumbai Police has been sought to direct the police to file a detailed investigation report in the case, as it is reported that their case file is missing or deleted.
Dhanda has urged the apex court that if the court finds it unsatisfactory, the case may be referred to the Central Bureau of Investigation for further investigation.
Salian died on June 8 after falling from the 14th floor of a residential building (Regent Galaxy) in Malad West, Mumbai.
“A week later, on the morning of 14 June, Sushant Singh Rajput allegedly committed suicide, which arouses suspicion,” the petition said.
The petition argued that Salian was in a relationship with actor Rohan Rai, who has appeared in a few TV serials and was about to get married after the nationwide bandh ended due to Kovid-19.
The petition stated, “According to a family statement given to the Mumbai Police, the family was happy with the relationship. The couple was waiting for the nationwide bandh to end and wanted to get married immediately.”
The petition also stated that just before the bandh, Disha and Rohan had taken two BHK flats in the Regent Galaxy building of Malad West.
The petitioner asserted that Sushant and Salian’s deaths are interlinked.
