Deoband Trinamool Congress MP and actress Nusrat Jahan is said to wish Mahalaya to her fans by taking the form of Goddess Durga, the Islamic madrasa in Darwand, Darul Uloom did not like and asked the actress to apologize for this act. Maulana Ishaq Gora, an Islamic scholar from Deoband, said, “Nusrat Jahan likes to do these kinds of things. She is always in controversy. These things are forbidden in Islam, but she is doing it. People are often offended by her work. Happens. I think it’s completely wrong. He should apologize. ”
Maulana Asad Kasami from Deoband also criticized the actress. He said, this is against the principles of Islam. He should apologize to Allah. Actress and MP Nusrat Jahan had on Tuesday demanded additional protection from the Indian High Commissioner in Britain as he posted a picture of his Durga avatar on Instagram, for which he was allegedly threatened with death. Significantly, the actress shared her picture wishing her followers ‘Shubho Mahalaya’, in which she was seen in the traditional dress of Goddess Durga.
He has also alerted the Ministry of External Affairs and the Government of Bengal. Nusrat is currently in London to shoot a Bengali film and is expected to be there for the next 15 days. He wrote, “I urgently need police protection during my stay in London, as this threat is very serious and is affecting my mental health. Please arrange for me to provide the necessary security in London.”
This is not the first time the actress has faced an outbreak of fanatics. She was also criticized for putting vermilion after marriage and attending Durga Puja celebrations last year. Azad Vajmi, the Mufti of Darul Uloom Deoband, was severely criticized for his adoption of Hindu traditions and issued a fatwa against him for marrying outside his religion and adopting Hindu marriage symbols like ‘Mangalsutra’ and ‘Sindoor’.
