Kolkata. The CPI (M) -led Left Front and the Congress termed the agricultural bill passed in Parliament as “anti-farmer and anti-labor” and asked Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to convene a special session in the state assembly to discuss it.
In a joint letter to the Chief Minister, Leader of the Opposition Abdul Mannan and Leader of the LF Legislative Party Sujan Chakraborty said that they are ready to be a part of any resolution brought by the Trinamool Congress in the Assembly on these issues in the public interest.
The letter said – “In the present circumstances it is necessary to accept any proposal immediately against the disastrous move of the Central Government.” The manner in which anti-farmer and anti-labor bills were passed during the monsoon session in Parliament is unparliamentary, undemocratic and extremely dangerous for the country.
The letter demanded that the chief minister should convene a special session of the state assembly to discuss the bills passed by the parliament.
