new Delhi . In view of the huge congestion in many special trains, the Railways has decided to run 20 pairs of ‘clone trains’ on select routes from 21 September. A senior railway ministry official said that these would be fully reserved trains.
The official said that 19 pairs of ‘clone trains’ will run the Rams of Humsafar Express, each carrying 18 coaches, while one pair with 22 coaches will run on the Delhi-Lucknow route.
The official said that passengers will have to make reservations in these trains within 10 days.
The official said that the fares of clone trains with Humsafar train racks will be charged as much as the Humsafar Express trains, while the fares of the clone trains on the Delhi-Lucknow route will be charged as much as the fare of Janshatabdi Express.
According to railway officials, the clone trains would be in addition to the 310 pair trains currently running.
