Nainital: According to the High Court’s orders, the contempt petition filed by the Chief Minister Dehradun against Chief Secretary Omprakash Singh will be heard on Monday i.e. today, due to non-recovery of housing allowance and other dues from former Chief Ministers. The hearing will be heard in a single bench of Justice Sharad Sharma. At the same time, a response has been filed in the High Court on behalf of Chief Secretary Omprakash Singh.
According to Kartikeya Hari Gupta, advocate of the Rulak Sanstha, the contempt petition is listed for hearing on 14 September. At the last hearing of the contempt petition, the High Court had asked the Chief Secretary to file a reply. A reply in this regard has been filed by the Chief Secretary on 10 September. In which it has been said that former Chief Ministers Bhagat Singh Koshyari, Bhuvan Chandra Khanduri and Vijay Bahuguna have submitted the house rent.
Self Notice has also been given to Narayan Dutt Tiwari’s wife to deposit the payment, which has not been deposited yet. Water bill of 11 lakh in the name of Mr. Koshyari, 4 lakh in the name of Vijay Bahuguna, 3.89 lakh in the name of Mr. Khanduri, 10.60 lakh in the name of Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank and self. 21.75 lakhs are pending in the name of Narayan Dutt Tiwari. But electricity bills are also not mentioned in this reply.
The reply filed by the Chief Secretary states that the government has filed the SLP in the Supreme Court on 8 September 2020 against the order passed by the High Court on 9 June 2020 which is the diary of the Supreme Court. In the said order, the Uttarakhand High Court quashed the ordinance relating to the exemptions of expenses incurred in the housing and other allowances of former chief ministers.
