new Delhi. Indian fast bowler S Sreesanth’s 7-year ban came to an end on Sunday. Sreesanth was banned for life time in the case of spot-fixing, but later the Supreme Court reduced it to 7 years. 37-year-old fast bowler Sreesanth has made it clear that after the ban, he will play in domestic cricket, while his home team Kerala has also said that if he proves his fitness, he will join him in the team Will consider doing.
Before the ban was over, on Friday, Sreesanth tweeted, saying, “I will be completely free from all charges and will again represent the game that I enjoy the most.” I will try to give my best on every ball. He further wrote that I can give another 5-7 years to this game and will give my best to whichever team I play. Let us tell you that Sreesanth was accused of fixing during the 2013 IPL season and after that he was banned with life time. In 2013, apart from Sreesanth, Ajit Chandila and Ankit Chauhan were also banned.
Subsequently, the Supreme Court quashed the order of the BCCI’s disciplinary committee on March 15 last year and asked the board to consider reducing the sentence period. Sreesanth played 27 Tests, 53 ODIs and 10 T20 Internationals for India. He has 87 in Test cricket, 75 in ODIs and 7 wickets in T20 cricket. Sreesanth is known as an aggressive fast bowler and his celebratory style was different, but all of them were braided after the ban.
Sreesanth can now return to the field through domestic cricket, but India’s domestic cricket is closed due to the Kovid 19 epidemic at the moment, so he may have to wait a bit for his return. However, it will also be interesting to see if he gets a chance in the Kerala team. Although the domestic season was to start from August, it could not happen and now the board is also waiting for the situation to be resolved. However, one thing is certain that after his return to cricket, Sreesanth will try his best to improve his bad image.
