She has left for abroad with son and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for her annual treatment. Sonia (73) can live abroad for about two weeks. Party sources said that Sonia Gandhi has left for her annual medical treatment and will return at least two weeks later.
Sources said that Rahul Gandhi is likely to return to India in the next two days and attend the Parliament session.

The party source said that senior leaders have been informed about the absence of Sonia and Rahul in the early days of the monsoon session and that they are facing the ongoing stalemate on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) between India and China, economy, Kovid-19, NEET and JEE will not participate in discussion on important issues like exams.
Rahul Gandhi attended the meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Defense on Friday before going abroad.
