Suture. Part of the bridge over the Banganga in Seoni district of Madhya Pradesh was washed away before the release of rain water. It is a bridge built at a cost of about nine crores. According to the information, the bridge built in Sunwara area on Banganga was not yet laid, but traffic continued on it. Rakesh Pal Singh, MLA of Kevalari, said that due to heavy rains the water was too much in the river and garbage got stuck in the railings of the bridge. A part of the bridge was washed away when the pressure increased.
Singh said that at another place, the bridge between Bhimgarh and Chapara has also been washed away by the rain water. It was a nearly a decade old bridge. There has been no loss of life in both places.
It has been reported that on one hand where there is heavy rains, on the other hand, when the Sanjay Sarovar Dam is overfilled, all 10 gates of the dam were opened and water was withdrawn, due to which much water has come into the river.
