new Delhi . The Supreme Court on Thursday reserved its order on the petition filed by fugitive businessman Vijay Mallya. Mallya had filed a petition against the 2017 verdict of the court which held him guilty of contempt of court. Mallya did not truthfully disclose the entire account of his property on the court’s order, and the top court held him guilty of contempt of court. In addition, Mallya was also found guilty of withdrawing $ 40 million from his account in violation of a court order. While Mallya was banned from withdrawing money from accounts.
A document related to the ongoing trial in the case in the Supreme Court had disappeared from the files. After which Justice U.U. The bench of Lalit and Ashok Bhushan adjourned the hearing till 20 August. Because all the parties involved in the case asked for more time to file new copies.
The bench has asked that the clarification be submitted within two weeks. It was also stated that “the petition for review thereafter shall be considered on merit basis”.
