new Delhi. Former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan believes that there is a big difference in the style of captaincy between MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli. Irfan Pathan named MS Dhoni “Captain Cool” for his ability to stay calm in the toughest conditions of the match, while Virat Kohli has introduced an attitude in his team that remains aggressive. In this way, there is a big difference in the captaincy of both.
Irfan Pathan has said, “In the era of Dhoni we saw a peace and in the era of Virat Kohli we saw aggression. To be successful you need both these qualities.” Speaking on the Star Sports show Cricket Connected, the former veteran all-rounder has said, “A player uses his calmness and his aggression to perform better. We have seen this in both eras.”
Pathan added, “We have seen MS Dhoni come to the end and win us through difficult conditions and we have seen Virat Kohli’s great record in Test cricket. Going to Australia and beating him there. His fast bowler who is always aggressive. They play cricket, they can dominate anyone, but Virat Kohli went there and dominated his bowlers on his own ground as a player and as a captain. ”
31-year-old Virat Kohli will lead the Royal Challengers Bangalore as captain in the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League starting on 19 September. On the other hand, Dhoni will lead Chennai Super Kings as he will go on to win his fourth IPL title. Dhoni is also a successful captain of India as he has won three ICC trophies, while Virat Kohli has not won any IPL title.
