new Delhi . Jammu and Kashmir became a part of India in the era of independence, but the special status given to this province was seen in the last 73 years. The laws passed by the Indian Parliament were not fully implemented for the welfare of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. Every financial aid sent by the central government was a result of corruption of local politicians, while the general public remained deprived of the central assistance.
On the other hand, every effort was made by Pakistan to create separatism and instability in Jammu and Kashmir. As a result, along with the martyrdom of innumerable soldiers, countless Kashmiris also lost their lives. Terrorism had reached the point that Kashmiri Pandits were uprooted from their motherland and driven away to stumble at the rate. The army and the police engaged in the security of the Kashmiris were also forced to actually face stone-pelting by becoming victims of conspiracies of Pakistani terrorists. In such an era, on 5 August last year, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi duly showed radical changes in the politics of Jammu and Kashmir. Declaring Article 370 and 35A declared Jammu and Kashmir as a union territory. At that time a great tension was being expressed, but all of that proved to be a fantasy. Seeing the manner in which the administration and people of Jammu and Kashmir have spent a year with the new arrangements, in reality, Jammu and Kashmir is seen as a heaven on earth and a province joining the whole country on the path of progress.
In the last one year for the proper and all-round development of Jammu and Kashmir, the Central Government has proved that the policy of the Central Government was not to harm Jammu and Kashmir, but its financial, educational, social conditions and cultural heritage. Had to be strengthened. Today, Jammu and Kashmir has become a glorious province enforcing the same constitution and the same central laws as other provinces of India. Today it has indeed been proved that Jammu and Kashmir is an unbreakable part of India. Now separatist rules like separate citizenship, separate flag of Jammu and Kashmir have come to an end. Before the removal of Article 370, only 108 Central Laws were in force in Jammu and Kashmir, whereas today the welfare of all the welfare laws of the Center is being easily accessible to the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Establishment of Human Rights Commission, RTI The benefits of the law, special assistance to the PwDs and the law of reservation etc., the benefits of the Whistle Blower Protection Act, etc. have now started to be found equally in the social and political uplift of Jammu and Kashmir. It is now possible to invite industries and even international investment all over India in the state. There have been 13,600 agreements facilitating international investment in the last one year. Refugees from West Pakistan have been granted citizenship of Jammu and Kashmir. Officers working in all-India level services have now been given the right to vote in Jammu and Kashmir. Land Acquisition Act, Indian Penal Code, Safai Karamcharis Law etc. have been implemented in Jammu and Kashmir like all of India.
The seventh pay commission has been given to the government employees of Jammu and Kashmir. Now the employees of the state government are entitled to the medical and education related allowances of their families like the central government employees. In the last one year, the process of more than 10 thousand government recruitments has been started. Apart from this, the farmers have also started getting the benefit of all central subsidies. Jammu Kashmir is famous for its valuable production like saffron. Establishment of a special Saffron Park in Kishtwar has led the way. Like all the elders of India, pension has been started to 1.5 lakh elderly people of Jammu and Kashmir. India’s first only rail bridge is under construction in Reasi district. It will be the highest railway bridge in the world. Work is in progress on the 256 km long railway line from Jammu to Baramulla. The supply of fresh fruits and handicrafts in greater quantity than before Jammu and Kashmir has been possible. In this way, the last one year in the history of Jammu and Kashmir is setting new standards of economic development. In addition to the many departments of the Central Government, more than Rs 80 thousand crore has been given to Jammu and Kashmir in the name of Prime Minister’s Development Package. With the establishment of many new technical institutes, a new revolution is also visible in the field of education in Jammu and Kashmir. In the last one year, arrangements for 50 new degree colleges and 25 thousand new students have been implemented. In the field of health, 2 AIIMS and 7 medical colleges have been provided to this province. More than 11 lakh cards have been distributed under Ayushman Bharat Yojana, which will benefit lakhs of families. Culturally, the future of children and women will be safer than before. The daughters of Jammu and Kashmir got equal rights in property, the laws of dowry came into force, freedom from misdeeds like triple talaq and child marriage, Poxo law ended exploitation of children, Scheduled Castes and people of all castes Like India, the benefit of reservation was received in Jammu and Kashmir. The hill community of the province and people living on the border also got the benefit of reservation.
The politics of Jammu and Kashmir has marked a revolutionary change for the first time. When the panchayat elections in the province, a large number of people elected their sarpanches while getting the right to develop according to their needs at the local level. Sarpanchs and members were given police protection and insurance. The politics of Jammu and Kashmir has now become a symbol of automatic development at the village level. Like all the country, the benefit of electrification has also started reaching remote villages of Jammu and Kashmir. Along with this multifaceted development journey, the people of the province are experiencing a tremendous peace in the last one year. This peace is the peace of freedom from terrorism.
Due to Article 370, hoisting the national flag of the national flag in any part of Jammu and Kashmir was made a big controversy. History is witness that in the face of so much opposition, senior BJP leader Murli Manohar Joshi ji had to march like a big movement to hoist the tricolor flag at Lal Chowk. At that time, Shri Narendra Modi was also present with him. BJP’s youth leader and current Union Minister of State Anurag Thakur also faced government blockades to hoist the tricolor. On unfurling the tricolor, the state government used to come down to protest. A year after the removal of Article 370 from the same Jammu and Kashmir, grand celebrations were organized in each district. Being the central in-charge of the BJP, I have also experienced the future of happiness and peace on the face of every person in the last one year. Last week I myself arrived at one such event in Kathua. Due to the Kovid-19 pandemic, these ceremonies could not be organized on a large scale, so small in number but an important ceremony was visible in the experience. When I hoisted the tricolor with a height of 110 feet in this area, I realized that Jammu and Kashmir is indeed an important and glorious province of India. Not only in every district of Jammu and Kashmir, but information was received about organizing such a function at the village level. Looking at these pictures of the last one year, every person of Jammu and Kashmir appears to be full of gratitude to the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi. Who has paved the way for making Jammu and Kashmir a real paradise by taking such a big bold and historical step, not worrying about political loss and profit.
