new Delhi. A document related to the Vijay Mallya case in the Supreme Court has disappeared from the files of the top court. Justice U.U. The bench of Lalit and Ashok Bhushan adjourned the hearing till 20 August.
It was hearing a reconsideration petition filed by Mallya against the verdict of July 14, 2017, in which he was found guilty of contempt for not paying Rs 9,000 crore to the banks despite repeated instructions, though he had given his children Had transferred 40 million dollars.
The bench was looking for answers on an intervention application which appeared to have disappeared from the case papers.
The parties involved in the case asked for more time to file new copies.
On June 19, the Supreme Court sought clarification from its registry about Mallya’s appeal against the May 2017 conviction in the case of non-payment of Rs 9,000 crore to listed banks for the last 3 years.
In May 2017, the top court convicted him of contempt of court for transferring $ 40 million to his children, and ordered him to appear on July 10 to argue the sentence.
