After receiving the information, the CBI kept him under surveillance, during which it was revealed that Awasthi was going to meet exporters at Lalwani’s residence in Khar area of Mumbai on 15 March.
When the exporters came out after the meeting, a CBI team chased them. The agency claimed that its PE has revealed that Awasthi was in regular contact with Rajput, met him regularly in Mumbai and Ahmedabad, and on March 5 he received Rs 50,000.
