More than 90 percent computerization of land records has been done in 23 states / union territories of the country and this work is in progress in the remaining 11 states and union territories. This information was given by the Union Ministry of Rural Development on Friday. Giving information about Digital India Land Records Modernization Program (DILRMP) during a program, the ministry said that more than 90 percent of the land map has been digitized in 19 states / union territories and in nine states / union territories this direction The work is in progress.
Computerization of registration (SRO) has been completed in more than 90% of the 22 states / UTs and substantial progress has been achieved in eight states / union territories.
The Ministry stated that the integration of SRO with Revenue Office has been completed in more than 90 per cent in 16 states / union territories and in eight states / union territories, the work is progressing well.
Union Rural Development and Panchayati Raj and Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Narendra Singh Tomar on Friday released a booklet on ‘Best Practices in Digital India Land Records Modernization Program’ of the Department of Land Resources, Ministry of Rural Development. The booklet is based on presentations made by the states during regional and national workshops.
It lists the ‘Best Practices’ adopted for land records modernization in the National Policy Framework and the nine states included in the study, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Haryana, Maharashtra, Tripura, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand and Rajasthan. It also covers errors in implementation of various processes such as (registration, mutation, survey, disposal, land acquisition), technology initiatives and legal and institutional concepts.
On this occasion, Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said that a good land records system is necessary for a progressive society.
