Jaipur . The political crisis in Rajasthan has brought another interesting twist. Sachin Pilot camp MLA Bhanwarlal Sharma has filed a petition in the Rajasthan High Court seeking a probe by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) into the tape case issued by the camp of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. The Special Operations Group (SOG) is currently investigating the case. Sharma on Tuesday approached the court seeking transfer of the investigation from the SOG of the Rajasthan police to the NIA.
The SOG had on July 17 lodged an FIR against Sharma for sedition (124A) and criminal conspiracy (120B) under the Indian Penal Code on a complaint by Congress chief whip (Whip) Mahesh Joshi.
SOG teams are often searching hotels in Haryana to collect voice samples of accused MLAs.
The complaint was lodged after three audio tapes surfaced, one of which allegedly heard Sharma’s voice in which he along with Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat were trying to topple the Gehlot government through horse trading. Talking about the plan is going to be heard.
