Tehtaran | Iran’s international footballer Sardar Ajmoun has won the Golden Boot Award in the Russia Premier League. According to reports by Xinhua, Ajmoun and his Zenit St. Pittsburgh teammate Artem Diuba scored 17 goals in 28 matches in the league. But Ajmoun was ahead of Diuba in scoring less than a penalty. Ajmoun scored just one goal from the penalty while Diuba scored seven goals.
Ajmoun said on his Instagram, “I want to say thank you to all those who supported me in the current season. I worked hard to win this award.”
Ajmoun is the first player from Iran to play in the Russia Premier League. He is the first player from Iran to win the title in the league.
25-year-old Ajmoun plays Janet St Pittsburgh Club in the Russia Premier League. He scored 12 goals in 16 matches for the club in the 2018-19 season.
The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) last month named Ajmon as the best player in Asia in the Russia Premier League.
