new Delhi. Amid ongoing tensions with China, top commanders of the Air Force will discuss the status of the Line of Actual Control with China in eastern Ladakh. During the meeting this week, the deployment and operation of Rafale fighter jets from France will also be discussed.
Indian Air Force officials said the top commanders would meet at a two-day commanders’ conference starting on 22 July. The main agenda of this conference to be led by Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria will be the situation on the borders with China. Seven Commander-in-Chiefs will also be present in this meeting.
The Air Force has deployed all the advanced fighter aircraft of the Mirage 2000, Sukhoi-30, and MiG-29 in its modern fleet at the forward base from where they are operating both day and night. Apache attack helicopters have been deployed at forward bases along the Chinese border and are continuously flying over the eastern Ladakh region at night.
The top officer of the Indian Air Force will also discuss the rapid deployment and operation of Rafale fighter jets arriving in India from France by the end of this month. Officials said that the most advanced jets of the South Asian region are going to increase the strength of the Air Force under their adverse conditions as they are equipped with the most advanced weapon systems. He said that India specific enhancements in fighter jets as well as long-range weapons such as Meteor Air to Air Missiles would give India an edge over China and Pakistan.
The Indian Air Force chief has played a key role in India’s biggest defense deal so far as the head of the Indian negotiation team for the project, which will bring 36 Rafale jets worth about Rs 60,000 crore to India. Rafael’s two squadrons will also play an important role in boosting aerial katak to India.
