new Delhi. Congress MLA Rajendra Guda has made a sensational disclosure regarding Sanjay Jain, arrested in the phone tapping scandal in the midst of the ongoing political upheaval in Rajasthan. According to Guda, Jain met him eight months ago and asked BJP leader Vasundhara Raje to meet Scindia and others. He further stated that there are many agents like Jain, but he was not successful in his efforts. Jain was active for a long time. Regarding the floor test, he said, ‘We are more than 100 in number (MLAs). We have a majority. If we did not have a majority, they (BJP) would have demanded a floor test. They know that we have a majority. So they are not asking for a floor test.
Significantly, in the phone tapping case, BJP and Congress are face to face. The Congress has questioned the demand for a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in the case. Party leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi said that the CBI probe has been demanded to give a ‘clean chit’ and ‘suppress the truth’. At the same time, Rajasthan BJP President Satish Poonia has said, ‘Additional Chief Secretary (Home) said that he is not aware of phone tapping. So the question is, can the Rajasthan government allow any such tapping? The Ministry of Home Affairs has taken cognizance of this matter and I think many things will come out.
