Kanpur. Shashikant, who was accused of supporting the encounter on July 2-3 in Bikaru village of Uttar Pradesha, has been arrested by the police. Police’s AK-47 rifles, 17 cartridges and 20 cartridges of INSAS rifles have been recovered. This information was given by ADG-Law and Order-Prashant Kumar of Uttar Pradesh in a press conference.
Prashant Kumar said that on July 2, a police party was attacked in Bikaru village by Vikas Dubey’s associates and killed eight policemen. He had also looted the government practice. In this regard, the case was registered under Crime No. 192/20, Section 147, 148, 149, 302, 307, 120B, 415 IPC and Seventh Criminal Law Amendment Act in Thana Chaubepur.
Several teams were formed to investigate the case. On Monday night by the SOG team, Shivrajpur police and Railway Bazaar police, on the information of the informer, the wanted accused and the reward of 50 thousand crook Shashikant was arrested at 2:50 pm.
He said that a case has also been registered against the SHO of Chaubepur. Whatever action will be taken in this case will be according to the rules and the law.
The accused said that Ashala, who was looted by the policemen, was hidden in his and Vikas’s house at the behest of Vikas. On his spot, an AK-47 rifle, 17 cartridges and an INSAS rifle and 20 other cartridges were recovered from the house of Vikas.
The recovered one AK-47 rifle and 17 cartridges are official, one additional INSAS rifle and 20 cartridges are official.
The ADG said that 21 accused were named in the case, out of which Gyan Yadav, Dayashankar Agnihotri and Shashikant Dubey have been arrested. Six accused, including the main accused Vikas Dubey, have been killed in the encounter.
The search for 11 accused is on. At the same time, the two accused, Gudan Trivedi and Sonu who have been arrested from Maharashtra, are coming to the police UP on remand, after which further action will be taken.
