Gorakhpur The government will withdraw the case filed in April 2017 at the Chilluatal police station against villagers who are opposing the opening of a local liquor store. In this case a case was registered against 18 nominated and hundred unknown villagers, including the then and current councilor. After lathicharge on the villagers, the matter was in the news for several days due to the clash between the city MLA Dr. Radha Mohan Das Aggarwal and the then ASP / CO Gorakhnath, Charu Nigam. The city MLA also staged a sit-in in front of the Gandhi statue at the town hall intersection with the villagers. Police has filed a charge sheet in this case.
The Additional Secretary of the State Government has written to the District Magistrate informing about the decision of the Government to withdraw the case. In this letter, he has asked the District Magistrate to submit an application through the Public Prosecutor to the court for withdrawal of the case. Law, Justice and Rural Engineering Services Minister Brajesh Pathak has given information about the state government’s decision to withdraw the case by calling city MLA Dr. Radha Mohan Das Aggarwal.

Explain that after the formation of BJP government in the state, a local liquor shop was opened at Koilahwa Tiraha in Chiluatal area. Local people were very upset with the opening of the shop in the middle of the township. On 22 April 2017, local people started protesting at the Koilhwa Tirahae by protesting the opening of the shop. A large number of women were also involved in the demonstration. The then CO Gorakhnath Charu Nigam was trying to pacify the villagers by explaining the protesters. Meanwhile, some woman had rung the CO’s hand. The police then lathi-charged the protesters. City MLA Dr. Radha Mohan Das Aggarwal reached the spot on the news of lathicharge on the villagers. He had a lot of clash with CO on the spot.

The city legislators who reached the spot after lathicharge had expressed their displeasure over the police action. The CO Charu Corporation started arguing with them over their objection to the police action. During this time, CO started reacting in a very loud voice. On this, the city legislator reprimanded him. Hearing his rebuke, the CO had burst into the middle of the crowd. The CO’s comment on Facebook regarding the episode was widely discussed, but he later deleted his post.

City MLA Dr. Radha Mohan Das Aggarwal thanked the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Law, Justice and Rural Engineering Minister Brajesh Pathak on behalf of the citizens, saying that as an MLA, it is my duty to deal with the citizens whenever and at which level I also strongly oppose injustice and exploitation. He said that if there is injustice to the citizens, then I will stand in favor of the citizens in the same way.
