new Delhi. Ravindra Jadeja, the all-rounder of the Indian team, recalled the team’s 2019 World Cup farewell on Friday and said that it was one of the worst days.
On the same day last year, India lost to New Zealand in the semi-finals at Old Trafford in Manchester and the team’s dream of winning the World Cup was shattered.
Jadeja posted a photo of the match, writing, “We did our best, but fell short behind. One of the worst days.”
Batting first in the semi-finals, New Zealand had scored 239 runs at the loss of eight wickets and then dismissed India for 221 runs.
Jadeja had played a brilliant innings and scored 77 runs in that match. In partnership with Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the team reached the threshold of victory. Dhoni was run out and with this, all of India’s hopes were shocked.
Dhoni has not yet returned to the cricket field after this match.
