new Delhi. Talks between the top military delegations of the two countries began on Tuesday morning to resolve the border dispute in East Ladakh between India and China. The meeting is being held in Chushul, where India has given a strong message to the People’s Liberation Army of China that the Chinese Army has not complied with the agreed upon retreat.
This is the third military delegation-level dialogue between the two countries. Earlier two Corps Commander level meetings were held on 6 June and 22 June respectively.
This time, this meeting is being held in Chushul on the Indian side. The last two meetings took place in Moldo on the Chinese side.
A source said that all the reasons for the border dispute between the two countries will be discussed to calm the situation.
China agreed to retreat to Pangang So, but it did not withdraw. India claims the Line of Actual Control at Finger 8 and the Chinese sit between Finger 4 and Finger 5, causing differences in the Depsang and Demchok regions.
On 22 June, the two countries held talks for 11 hours. The talks were held in a very positive atmosphere and both countries agreed to withdraw.
The Indian Army had then said, “There was discussion on retreating in all areas of eastern Ladakh conflict.”
