A day before Unlock-1 is over, the Central Government has issued guidelines for Unlock-2 on Monday night. Unlock-2 will be effective from July 1. However, Unlock-2 will not be applicable in some states of the country, as the situation is not under control here. These include Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu.
In Maharashtra, cases of corona virus infection are increasing rapidly. In such a situation, the state government has decided to extend the lockdown till July 31. In this case, Unlock-2 will not be applicable in Maharashtra. Maharashtra has the highest number of corona virus infections in the country. So far, 1,69,883 people have been caught by this deadly virus. At the same time, 7610 people have died. The state currently has 73,313 active cases. These are people who are currently being treated. In such a situation, if the Unlock-2 guidelines are implemented in Maharashtra, then the situation can become more uncontrollable.
After Maharashtra, the Tamil Nadu government announced that the lockdown would be extended by 31 July. Madurai and Greater Chennai Police limits including Chennai and Kanchipuram, Chengalpattu and Thiruvalluvar will remain under full lockdown till 5 July. There are currently 37,334 active corona cases in Tamil Nadu. At the same time, the total number of infected has been 86,224. In such a situation, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K Palanisamy has taken several strict steps to prevent corona virus infection. As such, unlock-2 will not be applicable in the state before July 5.
Please tell that in the last 24 hours in India, there have been 418 deaths due to corona virus and 18,522 new cases were reported. According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of corona-positive cases in India has increased to 5,66,840. These include 2,15,125 active cases, 3,34,822 cured people and 16,893 deaths.
Significantly, to bring the country’s economy back on track, the process of opening lockdown is being done in a phased manner to prevent the spread of corona virus. According to the guidelines issued by the Union Home Ministry, the school-colleges and coaching institutes in Unlock-2 will remain closed till 31 July. After this, it will be decided to open them only after consultation with the states. During this time, international flights will also be banned. However, international flights will remain exempt under the Vande Bharat campaign. The scope of domestic flights and passenger trains will also be extended in a phased manner, but metro rail, cinema, gym and bars will remain closed.
