Mexico City. The death toll from the 7.5 magnitude earthquake on the Rector scale has increased to seven in the state of Oaxaca, Mexico. According to officials, around 2,000 houses have been damaged here. According to the news agency report, two women and five men were among those who died. At the same time, 11 people were injured.
The earthquake came off the Pacific coast of Oaxaca on Tuesday morning. Its epicenter was 23 km south of La Crucesita, located along the sea.
Oaxaca Governor Alejandro Murat said in a video message that there was some damage in 85 cities of the state, but work was progressing smoothly in hospitals and airports for Kovid-19 patients.
Three federal highways, six state highways and two bridges were damaged by the earthquake but have now been opened to traffic.
