new Delhi. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday issued an orange alert for some more northern states including the national capital. The weather bureau has forecast that the monsoon will hit the region in 48 hours. IMD said in its daily bulletin, “Monsoon conditions are favorable for the remaining parts of Uttar Pradesh, the entire Western Himalayan region, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Punjab and Rajasthan during the next 48 hours.”
The bureau issues warnings categorized in four colors – green, yellow, orange and red according to the intensity of the weather system. Orange alert is given to prepare officers. This warning means that heavy to very heavy rainfall may occur.
The IMD has predicted “cloudy and moderate rains in general” over the next two days.
The maximum temperature in Delhi will be 36 degrees and the minimum temperature will be above 29 degrees Celsius.
There will be heavy rains at different places in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, East Rajasthan, Sub-Himalayan Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, West Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh during the day.
