Today, even though everyone is on the path of becoming self-sufficient or self-reliant due to the Corona-borne epidemic and the conditions arising from it, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had taken a decisive initiative towards making villages self-reliant in his last term. In his last tenure, the Prime Minister, while presenting the scheme of Adarsh Gram, had urged all MPs to materialize the scheme. However, the work could not be done as the Prime Minister wanted. At the level of leadership, public representatives and government, the scheme is currently in dormancy, but this ‘Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana’ has immense potential. It is time to accept these possibilities of Adarsh Gram Yojana as a challenge.
Indian villages have been meeting all the needs of the cities here, but India is now getting poorer, as the villages are no longer self-sufficient and the cities have become the foreign system and market of goods. Cities in India have become dependent on foreign countries and village cities. Self-sufficient village means that village which fulfills all its needs on its own, there should be no situation to bring any material from outside. Proper management of natural resources is done. The village should be just and crime free. Every village should have its own variety and features. Each village has its own physician, teacher, craftsman and jurist. Each village has its own special theology, economics and sociology. Every village has its own unique identity in terms of education and knowledge.
Gandhiji repeatedly stressed that if villages are destroyed then India too will be destroyed. Cities in India have developed under foreign hegemony and influence. In the present system, the cities are known as exploiters of the village. The migration of rural population to cities is a matter of concern. If the city is really concerned about the village, then some things will have to be taken into its immediate hands, for example, citizens take the items of their daily use on a priority basis. Every village should have an exhibition showing the skills, specialties and creative experiments there. The village should be identified with the system of Panchayat Raj system, cottage-village industries, labor and enterprise based lifestyles, chaupal, grandmother-mother’s wallet for medical treatment.
Consideration of new action plan: To make villages self-reliant, phased schemes will have to be executed at the government level. In the first phase, all the related schemes of the state government and central government from public representatives of all levels can be implemented in these villages. The second phase should provide the basis for developing that village based on the specific socio-economic identity of the village. In the third phase, the system of establishing the village identity and the main trends and developing them should be developed. Some villages are cow-based, and some should be practicing Vedic values. Thus these villages will get fame on the basis of unique identity. After five years, these villages should be studied. Deficiencies will be identified based on this study. Accordingly, these efforts can be sustained with the required modifications for the next five years.
This time is perfectly suitable for village development. In this era of Corona, India has started serious consideration for self-reliance. As far as village development is concerned, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh has set up a department for this. With the efforts of the Sangh, village development has come on the agenda across the country. Government and society are forced to think in a new way. Prime Minister Modi also wants the development of India by developing villages. His intention is clear, that is why he laid the foundation stone of the Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana in the last term. However, this plan has been partially implemented. The MPs concerned should be held responsible for this, who are involved in other types of political activities rather than development.
There should be a deeper investigation as to why this plan could not be achieved. Why did the Lok Sabha members remain indifferent and passive towards this scheme. Is not an MP so powerful and even able to idealize a village in his parliamentary constituency. Now it should be prepared that youth groups and voluntary organizations should take this campaign forward with the cooperation of all the people’s representatives. Today the whole country is preparing to celebrate the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. The central government, various state governments and various institutions are preparing for Gandhi’s 150th birth anniversary, but the practical roadmap for the development of villages will be Gandhi’s true memory and tribute.
Based on this village development plan, there may be a Bhagirath attempt to revive Indian values in the villages. The beginning can be from 56 villages in Madhya Pradesh. It is possible that after seeing one village, another village changes its structure. He should also exercise self-reliant villages on the basis of his identity and diversity. The Prime Minister of the country is firm in his passion. The need is that the country should participate in their passion. The Prime Minister’s Passion The day the passion of MPs, MLAs, young entrepreneurs, experts and other public representatives became understood, the golden future of India started. If all are determined, it will not take long to realize the dream of a perfect India based on the diversity of the villages.
