new Delhi. Army Chief General Manoj Mukund Narwane will visit Leh after the Army Commanders’ Conference is over, amid continuing tensions with China. The army chief is going on this tour to review the on-ground situation and progress in negotiations with the Chinese military.
Officials said the Army Chief discussed the security situation with top Army commanders in Delhi on Monday. According to army officials, all the commanders are in Delhi for the second phase of the Commanders’ Conference. The Army Commanders’ Conference is held on 22–23 June to review the situation on both the northern and western fronts.
The meeting comes at a time when India and China are holding military-level talks to ease border tensions following violent clashes in the Galvan Valley of Ladakh. In this skirmish, 20 Indian soldiers made supreme sacrifice, showing unmatched bravery. The Chinese army has also suffered a lot in this. China has confessed that its commander was also killed in the clash.
