New Delhi Nationwide lockdowns in India may be further relaxed, but deaths from coronaviruses continue to increase. Only 681 deaths have been reported in the country on Saturday and Sunday only. In which 306 deaths occurred between Saturday and Sunday and 375 deaths occurred in the last 24 hours. The death toll in India has risen to 13,254 so far. Meanwhile, there were 1,69,451 active cases in India on Sunday morning. A record 15,413 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours as compared to 14,516 a day earlier.
A large number of new cases are being recorded in Maharashtra, Delhi, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal with each passing day. India’s total corona cases as of Sunday were 4,10,461.
Maharashtra has the highest number of 58,068 active cases. According to Health Ministry data, Delhi has 23,340 cases and Tamil Nadu 24,825 active cases on Sunday morning.
On Saturday night, the Delhi government said that 3,630 new cases were seen in the city.
According to the last update of the World Health Organization, 85,25,042 cases have been confirmed globally with 4,56,973 deaths. However, the Worldmeter is reported to have a total of 89,21,385 cases of corona and 4,66,848 deaths.
So far 2,27,755 patients have been cured in India, the number of which is more than the number of active cases.
