Rajasthan Royals have defeated Punjab Kings by 50 runs. In this match, Rajasthan Royals had scored a huge score of 205 runs while playing first, in response, Punjab’s team could reach only 155 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Yashasvi Jaiswal played a half-century of 67 runs for Rajasthan, while Riyan Parag also played a stormy innings of 43 runs. On the other hand, Nehal Vadhera performed well for Punjab, but Shreyas Iyer flopped.
Punjab’s top order fell in front of Jofra Archer
Punjab Kings got a huge target of 206 runs in this match. While chasing the target, the top order of the Punjab team proved to be a complete failure. On the very first ball of the innings, Jofra Archer clean bowled Priyansh Arya. Shreyas Iyer batted in a stormy manner as soon as he came, but on the last ball of the first over, Archer clean bowled Iyer as well.
The problems of the Punjab team increased further when Prabhsimran Singh was also out after scoring 17 runs. While the team was expecting a big innings from Marcus Stoinis, this dashing Australian all-rounder was also out after scoring just 1 run. The condition of Punjab was so bad that by the score of 43, it had lost 4 wickets. Nehal Wadhera and Glenn Maxwell shared a 78-run partnership and raised hopes of Punjab’s victory, but both lost their wickets within two balls. Wadhera scored 62 runs and Maxwell scored 30 runs.
Punjab missed out on a hat-trick of wins
Punjab Kings had won both their matches so far in IPL 2025. In the first match, it defeated Gujarat Titans by 11 runs, while in the next match, it registered its second consecutive win by crushing Lucknow Super Giants by 8 wickets. Punjab team could have scored a hat-trick of wins by defeating Rajasthan Royals, but in the end it had to face a big defeat of 50 runs. This is Rajasthan’s second consecutive victory.
