Ludhiana (Punjab): Bollywood actor Sonu Sood, who is called the messiah of the poor, has got into a legal mess. A Punjab court has issued an arrest warrant against Bollywood actor Sonu Sood in a fraud case. Ludhiana Judicial Magistrate Ramanpreet Kaur issued the warrant.
The case is related to a fraud of Rs 10 lakh filed by Ludhiana lawyer Rajesh Khanna against a person named Mohit Shukla, in which he claimed that he was lured to invest in fake Rijika Coin.
Sonu Sood was summoned to the court to testify, but he did not appear, due to which an arrest warrant was issued. In its order, the Ludhiana court has directed the officer in charge of Oshiwara police station in Andheri West, Mumbai to arrest Sonu Sood.
The order said, ‘Sonu Sood, (son, wife, daughter) resident, house number 605/606 Casablanc Apartment has been duly served summons or warrant, but he did not appear (absconded and went out with the intention of avoiding the service of summons or warrant). You are ordered to arrest Sonu Sood and produce him before the court.’
The order further reads, ‘You are directed to return this warrant on or before 10-02-2025, certifying on what day and in what manner it has been executed, or what is the reason why it has not been executed.’ The next hearing of the case has been scheduled for February 10.
