England’s The Hundred League has been in the news continuously due to the sale of teams. Now a new report has revealed that the Mumbai Indians franchise has bought a 49 percent stake in The Hundred’s Oval Invincibles. Oval Invincibles is the defending champion of this league and has won the title of ‘The Hundred’ twice. With this, Oval Invincibles will become the sixth team which will be controlled by the management of Reliance Industries. Earlier, Mumbai Indians have won the IPL and Women’s Premier League (WPL). Whereas MI New York in Major League Cricket, MI Cape Town in SA20 and MI Emirates in ILT20 come under the Ambani family.
There were speculations that the Ambani family wanted to buy one of the teams which is operated from London. They also had their eyes on London Spirit. Let us tell you that according to some media reports, Google CEO Sundar Pichai had also shown interest in Oval Invincibles, but according to the new update, Mumbai Indians have won the bid. Talking about The Oval Invincibles, its 49 percent stake is now with the Ambani family and the remaining 51 percent stake is with Surrey County Cricket Club. If Surrey Club wants to sell its shares in the future, then the MI franchise can also get full ownership of this team.
