Sambhal. Police has arrested Salim, accused of firing on CO Anuj Chaudhary in Sambhal violence. A pistol and five cartridges have also been recovered from him. He had looted the cartridges from the police. Seven cases including gangster are registered against Salim. After the violence, he fled to Seelampur in Delhi. He was working as a labourer there.
He came to Sambhal on Sunday to surrender. Police caught him. Violence broke out on 24 November in Sambhal over the survey of Jama Masjid. Police was pelted with stones and fired upon from three sides in a planned manner. During this, four people died in the firing, while more than 30 officers and policemen were injured. SP Krishna Kumar Bishnoi and CO Anuj Chaudhary were also injured in the violence.
A total of 12 FIRs were registered, out of which seven FIRs were lodged by the police and one by the relatives of injured Wasim. The relatives of the four deceased also lodged separate FIRs. In the FIR, 35 accused including MP Ziaur Rahman Barq and MLA Iqbal Mahmood’s son Suhail Iqbal are named and 3,750 are unidentified.
The police have arrested 51 accused including the one who fired at the SP. Salim was also arrested on Sunday. Additional Superintendent of Police Shrichandra said that Salim was identified on the basis of CCTV footage. During interrogation, the accused told that he had looted cartridges from the policemen during the violence and had also fired at CO Anuj Chaudhary.
The accused of Goonda Act, who was expelled from the district, has been sent to jail
The Kaila Devi police station has arrested the accused of Goonda Act, who was expelled from the district, from his house and sent him to jail. Somveer, a resident of Ladhanpur village of Kaila Devi police station area, was accused of Goonda Act, due to which he was expelled from the district.
On Sunday, the Kaila Devi police received information that Somveer, who was expelled from the district, was at home. On the information of the informer, Kailadevi Police Sub Inspector Sandeep Kumar along with the police team arrested the accused from his house in Ladhanpur and presented him in the court. From where he was sent to jail.
