Bumrah had taken 2 wickets in the first session of the second day of the Brisbane Test, when Australian legend Brett Lee praised him fiercely. Then English commentator Isa Guha said something, which has now become a matter of great controversy. He said, “Bumrah is the MVP of the team. Most Valuable Primate Jasprit Bumrah. He has been the most effective for India. Why is there so much focus on him for this test match.”

English commentator Isa Guha has now apologized for his ‘primate’ comment. He says that his purpose was only to honor Jasprit Bumrah. Apologizing, he said, “Yesterday during commentary, I used a word which can have thousands of meanings. Whoever has been hurt by my comment, I want to apologize to everyone. I respect others a lot.”
The meaning of the word ‘primate’ is seen as a big-brained ape. Actually, in 2008, a match was being played between India and Australia in Sydney. At that time, India’s legendary spin bowler Harbhajan Singh was accused of addressing Andrew Symonds as ‘monkey’.
Harbhajan Singh was suspended for three matches at that time for violating the rules.
