Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) has sent the revised detail project report (DPR) of Greater Noida West Metro to the Central Government for approval. As soon as approval is received from there, the process of its construction will be started. The construction of this line will benefit lakhs of people of Greater Noida West.
The UP Cabinet had recently approved the revised DPR of this route. 11 stations will be built on this route. This route will be about 17 kilometers long. Its cost has also been estimated to be around three thousand crores rupees. Actually, Noida Metro Rail Corporation had sent the DPR of this route to the UP government on February 5 for approval. This route will be an extension route of Aqua Line. Metro is running on Aqua Line from Sector-51 to Greater Noida Depot.
NMRC officials claim that running the metro on this route will reduce the jam on 130 meter road. Officials said that now this DPR has been sent to the Central Government for approval. After getting approval from there, tender will be issued for construction. Even if the central government approves soon, the work will start only by the end of next year.
Officials said that at the beginning of the metro, there will be about 1.25 lakh ridership on this route. People have been demanding for about 10 years to run the metro on this route. Abhishek Kumar, President of NeFOWA, says that the people living in Greater Noida West will get relief from traffic jams after the metro starts.
Interchange station will be built in Sector-61: On this route, the Blue Metro line coming from Delhi and the Aqua Metro line going to Greno West will now connect at Sector-61 station. People will not have to get down to change the metro. In such a situation, this will be an interchange station.
