Due to the increasing pollution problem in Delhi-NCR, the Supreme Court on Monday (November 18) ordered the closure of schools up to class 12 in Delhi-NCR. The court has asked all the states under NCR to immediately implement the restrictions imposed under GRAP 4. After this decision, after Delhi and Gurugram, now an order has been issued to close schools in Noida as well.
Keeping in mind the restrictions of GRAP-4, Gautam Buddha Nagar District Magistrate Manish Verma has also issued an order regarding school closure. The order states, ‘All schools in Gautam Buddha Nagar will conduct online classes till class 12. Online classes will continue till further orders. This decision has been taken in the interest of the health and safety of the children.

Delhi government took strict steps to deal with pollution
In view of the serious level of air pollution in Delhi, the fourth phase of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) has been implemented. The Air Quality Index (AQI) in the capital is in the ‘severe’ category, which is affecting the life of the people. Under this, the Delhi government has taken many strict steps. The Delhi government has ordered online classes for class 10th and 12th students. Other classes will also remain suspended until pollution improves. Construction work has been banned. Only public projects like metro and hospital construction have been allowed. Old diesel and petrol vehicles have been banned.
Many measures are also being taken to deal with pollution. Water is being sprayed in many parts of Delhi to reduce road dust. People are being encouraged to wear masks, car-pool, and use public transportation.
