Two inspectors who were collecting money from illegal firecrackers in Govindpuri village of Parikshitgarh police station area of Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, were taken hostage by the villagers. The villagers are also accused of beating them. At the same time, inspector Satyendra and Shivam are accused of trying to collect illegal money from a youth under the influence of alcohol. Many videos of this entire case are going viral on social media. In one video, the inspector is seen standing inside a house with his pistol pointed at the villagers. After getting the information, SSP Dr. Vipin Tada has ordered CO Sadar Dehat to investigate.
The villagers allege that inspector Satyendra and Shivam had come to collect money under the pretext of illegal firecracker sales. The villagers alleged that both the inspectors were drunk and were demanding money from a youth named Pintu by accusing him of selling firecrackers. During the altercation, both slapped the elderly woman. The youth also beat up Harendra when he protested against slapping the elderly woman. After this, the situation became more tense and about 20-25 people gathered. They surrounded both the inspectors and took them hostage.
Inspector pointed pistol at people
It can be seen in the viral video that the police and the villagers are face to face. The villagers are also angry against Inspector Satendra. While in the second video, it can be seen that the inspector has pointed his pistol at the villagers inside the house and a woman’s voice is also coming in the video. The inspector is threatening to shoot people. In another video, the inspector is asking the villagers with folded hands not to resort to violence. At the same time, the villagers are accusing the police of extortion and molestation of the woman.
Villagers made serious allegations
The villagers informed the control room about this incident. After which the police of Parikshitgarh, Kithor, Mawana and Bhawanpur police stations reached the spot with heavy force. CO Sadar Dehat Navina Shukla also reached the spot and after three hours of hard work, she pacified the villagers and got the two inspectors released. Villagers say that inspector Satyendra used to harass shopkeepers by claiming to be a close aide of the CO.
The police planned to take both the inspectors to the police station for medical examination but before the medical examination, both the policemen fled from the police station. The accused also switched off their mobiles. Villagers allege that complaints of extortion by the inspector have been made earlier as well. SSP Vipin Tada has handed over the investigation of the case to CO Sadar Dehat. He said that strict action will be taken against the accused if found guilty.
