A criminal wanted in the murder of two RPF constables Javed Khan and Pramod Kumar in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh in August, was seriously injured in a police encounter with the Noida unit of Uttar Pradesh STF and the Ghazipur police team.
A senior UP police official said that the injured criminal has been sent to the hospital for treatment. He said that he has been identified as Mohammad Zahid alias Sonu, a resident of Patna (Bihar) and there was a cash reward of Rs 1 lakh on him.
Murder of two RPF constables
Additional Director General of Police Law and Order and STF Amitabh Yash said that on the night of August 19-20, two RPF constables Javed Khan and Pramod were trying to stop the smuggling of illegal liquor in train number 15631 Barmer Guwahati Express, during which the liquor smugglers brutally beat up both the constables and threw them off the moving train, resulting in the death of both the constables.
