New Delhi. India’s T20 team captain Suryakumar Yadav has been injured. He got injured in the middle of the field due to which he had to go out. Suryakumar got this injury in the Buchi Babu International Tournament. Suryakumar Yadav, playing for Mumbai, got injured in the match being played against Tamil Nadu Cricket Association XI.
It is not yet known how serious Suryakumar’s injury is and due to this it is not clear whether he will be able to play in the Duleep Trophy starting from September 5.
Injury while fielding
Suryakumar is playing under the captaincy of Sarfaraz Khan in this match. When the Mumbai team was fielding, Suryakumar Yadav got injured in his hand. This match has not been anything special for Mumbai. The team was all out for just 156 runs in its first innings. Earlier, Tamil Nadu had scored 379 runs in its first innings. In its second innings, Tamil Nadu scored 286 runs and gave Mumbai a target of 510 runs.
Duleep Trophy is important
Both Buchi Babu and Duleep Trophy tournaments are very important for Suryakumar because after this Bangladesh team is coming on India tour which will start with the Test series. Suryakumar wants to make a place in the Test team and in such a situation both these tournaments can prove to be path openers for him. Suryakumar would also like to recover soon and play for India-C in the Duleep Trophy and stake his claim for the Test team.
After the Test series, India has to play a three-match T20 series against Bangladesh. It is also very important for Suryakumar Yadav to be fit for this series because he is the captain of the team and also the main batsman of the team in this format.
