Ajit Prasad will contest from Milkipur assembly seat from Samajwadi Party. Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav has finalized his ticket for the by-election today. Ajit Prasad is the son of Samajwadi Party MP from Faizabad, Awadhesh Prasad. This seat became vacant after Awadhesh Prasad became an MP. Awadhesh Prasad was the MLA from Milkipur reserved seat. He has been an MLA nine times. He wanted his son to contest the election. Many party leaders were against it. They were opposing Awadhesh’s son in the name of nepotism. But Akhilesh Yadav agreed to his name.
Akhilesh Yadav had called a meeting of Samajwadi Party leaders in Lucknow to decide the ticket. Ajit Prasad’s name was finalized after the meeting which lasted for two hours. BSP has already announced its candidate for the Milkipur assembly by-election.
UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has visited Milkipur three times in the last ten days. CM Yogi is the in-charge of this seat for the by-election.
By-elections will be held on 10 assembly seats in the state
Let us tell you that by-elections are proposed on 10 assembly seats of the state. The ruling party of the state BJP, Samajwadi and Congress are all preparing to contest in this by-election. Meanwhile, Mayawati’s party BSP will also put its full strength in this by-election.
All the people of the state were eyeing the Milkipur assembly seat. BSP has already announced the name of its candidate and in-charge from this seat. BSP has made Ramkopal Kori its candidate from this seat.
