Meerut. An advocate was taken hostage by three of his acquaintances to a tube well. He was stripped naked and beaten badly. They showed the beating to their friends through a video call. It is alleged that they made him drink urine mixed with water. When he protested, they tried to kill him by dipping his face in the well of the tube well. The victim ran two kilometers through the fields to reach Rajpura outpost, but the police turned him away. Later, a complaint was lodged at Inchauli police station.
The 30-year-old advocate used to practice in Meerut court till some time ago. He shifted to Guwahati five months ago. Three days ago, he came to Meerut for some work and stayed at a hotel in Ganganagar. On Sunday evening, he met two acquaintances and asked for a wedding invitation.
Made indecent remarks on the advocate’s wife
While talking near Buxar stand, a youth made indecent remarks on the advocate’s wife. He protested against this. Both the youths called one of their friends. The three youths took the advocate on a bike to a tube well near Sikhaida Pump at 8 pm and crossed all limits and beat him for one and a half hours.
Police kept procrastinating
The three accused went to buy liquor with the mobile and money snatched from the advocate. They threatened him that if he ran away from here, he would not be alive. According to the advocate, he somehow reached Meerut-Pauri highway and asked for help from people. A young man gave him a towel.
Policemen left the advocate in the hotel
Rajpura police station left the advocate in the hotel room saying that the case was of Inchauli police station. On Monday afternoon, the victim reached Inchauli police station and gave a complaint. Here also the police tried to evade the case by saying that the case was of Ganganagar police station. When the matter reached the officers, Inchauli police started investigation. SP Rural Kamlesh Bahadur said that action will be taken after investigation.
