A prisoner serving sentence in Naini Central Jail of Prayagraj escaped. Jail officials said on Monday that he was serving sentence after being convicted in a gang rape case. In this case, the jail administration has taken strict action and suspended four employees.
According to the news agency, the prisoner who escaped from the jail is a resident of Mahoba district of UP. His name is Kalicharan. He had gone to the field for work on Saturday afternoon. Jail sources said that when the prisoners were counted in the evening, he was found missing.
The prisoner was sentenced to 20 years in jail
Officials said that Kalicharan, a resident of Mahoba, was convicted in a gang rape case. He was sentenced to 20 years in jail in this case. He was sent to Naini Central Jail only five months ago. Four jail constables took him to the farm behind the old women’s jail for agricultural work.
Four jail constables suspended
If sources are to be believed, Kalicharan escaped from the jail constables’ sight by jumping over the boundary wall using a tree. Till Monday evening, jail and police teams raided several places in search of Kalicharan. In this case, those four constables have been suspended.
