Unnao. A horrific accident took place on the Lucknow-Agra Expressway in Unnao on Wednesday morning. Near Garha village in Behta Mujawar area, a sleeper bus collided from behind with a milk tanker moving ahead. 18 people including a child died in the accident, while 19 people were injured. CM Yogi has taken cognizance of the accident. Expressing condolences to the families of the deceased, he has instructed the officers to immediately reach the spot and provide proper treatment to the injured.
The accident took place around 5:30 am. The sleeper bus collided from behind with the milk tanker moving ahead. There was a lot of screaming after the accident. UPDA personnel informed the police and started rescue work. Meanwhile, Bangarmau, Behta Mujawar police station reached the spot and with the help of passersby, the people trapped in the bus were taken out.
The bus was going from Bihar to Delhi
CO Arvind Singh said that the bus was going from Bihar to Delhi, in which most of the laborers were travelling. There were around 50 people in the bus, the accident is likely to have happened due to the driver dozing off. Names and addresses of the deceased and the injured are being ascertained, all have been admitted to Bangarmau CHC. SDM Namrata Singh first reached the spot and investigated and then took information from the injured at the CHC. Gave instructions to the doctors for treatment.

1. 27-year-old Deepak Kumar son of Lakhan Lal, resident of Block Road Nagar Panchayat Sheohar, Bihar
2. 28-year-old Shivdayal Pandit son of Kameshwar, resident of Lalgarh Cantonment Maksudpur Kararia Sheohar, Bihar

CM Yogi took cognizance
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took cognizance of the road accident and expressed condolences to the bereaved families of the deceased. The Chief Minister directed the officials to immediately reach the spot and speed up the relief work.
All hospitals in Unnao, Kanpur have been alerted
Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak said, “A horrific road accident has taken place on the Agra Lucknow Expressway, 18 people have been killed and 19 injured. The injured are being taken to high-level hospitals, all hospitals in Unnao, Kanpur have been put on alert.” He said that most of the injured are from Bihar, we are in touch with the Bihar government. The reasons for the accident will be known after investigation, but at present the treatment of the injured is our priority.
