Lucknow. Along with the announcement of Lok Sabha elections, by-elections have also been declared for the four vacant seats of the Assembly. Voting for these four seats will be held along with the Lok Sabha elections. At present, Lucknow East, Dadraul, Gasdi and Duddhi assembly seats are vacant in the state. Voting will be held in Lucknow on 20th May.
Voting will be held in Dadraul on 13th May, in Gasdi on 25th May and in Duddhi on 1st June. Lucknow East Assembly seat is vacant due to the death of BJP MLA and former minister Ashutosh Tandon “Gopal Ji” on November 9. The by-election here will be held on May 20 along with the fifth phase of Lok Sabha elections.
By-elections will be held on this date
Dadraul Assembly seat of Shahjahanpur is vacant due to the death of BJP MLA Manvendra Singh on January 5. Voting will be held here along with the fourth phase of Lok Sabha elections i.e. on May 13. Gasdi assembly seat of Balrampur district is vacant due to the death of Dr. Shiv Pratap Yadav of SP. He died on 26 January. The by-election here will be held on May 25 along with the sixth phase of Lok Sabha elections.
Election on Duddhi assembly seat on June 1
Similarly, Sonbhadra’s Duddhi assembly seat BJP MLA Ram Dular was disqualified after being sentenced to 25 years of imprisonment by the court. This seat is vacant since 15th December. The by-election here will be held on June 1 along with the seventh phase of Lok Sabha elections.
